Scout has a nose to detect bed bugs and a heart to protect your family. Scout is a very important tool for IBBA to guarantee a successful bed bug treatment & assure complete elimination from all bed bugs.

Scout is certified by the NESDCA and meets all standards required to achieve his title as a bed bug inspection K9. Scout completed his year long initial training in Kansas where he was extensively trained to detect even the most minor signs of bed bug infestation. He continually trains to keeping his detection skills sharp! When it comes to Scout and his expert nose, bed bugs don’t stand a chance!

Here at IBBA, we work hard to eliminate the bed bugs using a safe heat treatment, and then we trust Scout to finish the job.

And if you are wondering about our previous K-9 Bella, she is enjoying a happy life of retirement.

A K-9 detection dog adds a second layer of precision when searching for a bed bug infestation. It can make identifying infestation at its early stage easier which allows for simpler treatment. The sooner the bed bugs are discovered, the less established they have become in the dwelling. This makes our job easier and more efficient to get rid of bed bugs permanently.

Can Dogs Be Trained To Detect Bed Bug Infestations?

Dogs are trained to detect a number of things. Bombs, drugs, cadavers, mold, termites and YES even bed bugs!! Using a dog to detect a bed bug infestation is a great tool, especially if the infestation is less established. Dogs are able to find bugs hidden where a normal human inspection could have normally missed this. Canine assistance can also help to possibly solve the problem before an extensive bed bug treatment is required. This is why you want Instant Bed Bug Assassins and their canine friend, Bella on your side when you first acquire a bed bug infestation.

Our company offers the most accurate scent detecting technology for locating bed bugs, a dog’s nose. Our dog, Scout, has extensive training and is a Certified Bed Bug Dog. He is able to find bed bugs with 95% accuracy (verses about 30-40% for a human only inspection). Scout can help you, your family, and your guests sleep well at night and confirm the need for a bed bug treatment.

Residential and commercial inspections will include homes, apartments, condos, dorms, hotel rooms, etc. As part of the bed bug inspection, we will also help train you and your staff to have the proper tools to recognize a bed bug problem before it gets out of hand.

Call today for an estimate, an appointment, or for any questions you might have. We provide an accurate K9 inspection, alerting you with an early warning of bed bug activity. This will help keep treatment costs down, and let you sleep more comfortably at night. Scout has a loyal and loving heart to protect families like you and we encourage you to let Scout do what he does best by giving you peace of mind so you can rest in your comfy, cozy bed.

Early Detection Is Key To Being Bed Bug Free!

IBBA’s K9 detection dog can keep a potential problem from exploding into a bigger infestation. Bed Bug treatment is much easier and less expensive if detected before the infestation reaches a severe level. Therefore, early detection can help lessen the chances of your property or business from appearing in the news or on a bed bug alert website.

Preventative K-9 inspections in hotels, hospitals, schools and any other possible places of infestation can save a company thousands of dollars by locating the need for a bed bug treatment in the early stages before the bed bugs can take hold. In addition, it can save the incredible reputation damage which can occur by not getting the bed bug treatment handled quickly and the impact that can have on customers. As you know, when it comes to a successful company, reputation will either make or break your business. Let Scout provide your business peace of mind in knowing you will never be known as the hotel, hospital, or school with the “bed bug problem”.

How Do Dogs Find Bed Bugs?

The dogs find bugs by their scent. Bed bugs have a particular scent and detection dogs are specially trained to smell the scent and identify the need for a bed bug treatment. Also bed bug detection dogs have the ability to identify a single bed bug, something a human could have missed.

Scout has been extensively trained to not only find and detect live bed bugs but also to not alert to dead bed bugs and distractors. Part of Scout’s training program is to be able to ignore distractions, such as, random food, dog toys, and dead bed bugs. To keep Scout sharp, his handlers work her 6 days a week and he continuously rewarded for his hard work.

IBBA follows the standards that are being utilized by NESDECA. Much research has been conducted by scientists at the University of Florida in their department of Entomology. This research has created guidelines and certification standards for bed bug K-9s. IBBA only associates with handlers and K-9 training centers that are NESDCA certified. You can visit www.nedsca.com to learn more about the program and the dogs IBBA uses for all K-9 inspections.
